Island Brač, with
its Vidova mountain (Vidova gora - 778 m) is the highest
island at the Adriatic sea; it is, also, the third biggest
island on Croatian coast. 172 km long island's coast is
devided with numerous bays and beaches which follws one
another.The most known beaches are Lovrecina on the northern
part of island , and famous Zlatni rat on the south part.
During centuries bays and cultivated valleys have enabled
establishing of numerous stones settlements and villages.The
peculiar characteristic of this area is the masonry,because
Brac abounds in stone.Some wellknown world buildings have
been built using Brac's stone, like House of Parlament in
Wienna, White house in Washington and Diokletian palace
in Split. Climate is typically Mediterranean with 2700 sunny
hours per year and average temperature during summer about
24°C , and 8,6°C during winter. Main activities are main
stoning,fishing,agriculture and tourism.
